Austin Tourism Commission

March was sure a busy month! I had the chance to volunteer (again!) at SXSW, and ... I’m excited to share that I’ve also been appointed to serve on the City of Austin’s Tourism Commission.

This is such an honor for me. The commission advises City Council on how Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) revenue is invested ~ supporting our cultural arts ecosystem, preserving Austin’s history, and strengthening local businesses and tourism.

I’m grateful to Mayor Pro Tem + District 4 Council Member Chito Vela and Daniel Ronan for the nomination, and to the MANY mentors, collaborators, and community leaders who have shaped how I think about civic and cultural engagement.

I love this city, and even as it continues to evolve, its creative spirit is what makes it feel alive. I’m excited to be part of conversations that help sustain that energy and to advocate for the collective support and resources that keep Austin vibrant and accessible to all.
