Women’s History Month @ The Cathedral
For Hilma (2026) The Cathedral ATX
In honor of Women’s History Month, I had the opportunity to participate in Portraits of Power at The Cathedral! It was a wonderful, thoughtfully curated exhibition celebrating women, creative expression, and community.
Being surrounded by the other fabulous artists in a space designed to celebrate women and visibility felt energizing. Exhibitions like this are a reminder that I am exactly where I need to be. The artist talk at the beginning made me see how supportive this community has been to so many. We all saw each other powerfully, and I had the honor of being shown for this exhibition!
When I was invited, I knew that my “portrait” could not be literal, no face, no body ~ wouldn’t be my style.
So, I called upon my favorite abstract artist and created a painting based on the magnificent Hilma Af Klint.
"For Hilma is a thank-you letter across time and space. Guided by her belief in the infinite potential within every atom, the painting moves between flower, cell, and energy field, where the botanical and the cosmic share the spiritual architecture. Rather than borrowing her symbols, this work follows her way of seeing through intuition and transmission, emerging as a nonfigurative portrait of power."
