Catherine Sophia Gonzalez is the founder of Bonphilosophia. She is an artist, writer, and mystic originally from Austin, Texas. She graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. in Art History with Honors focusing on American Realism and Magic Realism painting in the 1940s.

THE VISION

Bonphilosophia is a website dedicated to all things I consider to be wise. It translates to "good lover of wisdom" in French, Latin, and Greek. Sophia is my middle name and what I like to go by. Philosophy is technically the love of wisdom. Isn’t etymology everything? Sophia is the planetary goddess and our great earth mother. She was excommunicated by the church and is personified as a dragon.

About 14 years ago, the website name came to me when I walked home one day. On this platform, I interview emerging and established artists, designers, writers, social activists, and creatives. Lotta cool people. Post all the exciting things happening in my life. It is a base camp for my projects + bookings. It’s also a graveyard for all my paintings. You can buy my work at the Sabia Shop. You can also book energy readings with me under “Offerings.”
