"My current body of work has been a way for me to make tangible a mental mind map of sorts and to memorialize events and memories that have a quirky significance for me. Elements from these intangible moments are broken down and reformed, in much the same way rocks and strata are layered. Through a process of experimentation, new works and amalgamations are formed. Lately, my focus has been on installations and creating environments for my pieces to live in, a safe space, stage or purgatory to house them in the natural world. These dwelling spaces have an alien quality to them, and I think of the total realm, both the environment and the works that populate them, as existing in both the real and imagined world."
